Plitvice Lakes National Park is divided into two parts. Upper Lakes and Lower Lakes, part where is Big Waterfall and most interesting area is Lower Lakes! National Park has also two entrances, Entrance 1 and Entrance 2. Our suggested tour itinerary is: Enter the NP on Entrance 1, take pictures of Big Waterfalls from viewpoint, walk all the way down to Big Waterfall, take boat ride across the biggest Lake Kozjak, walk further to see part of Upper Lakes, exit on Entrance 2 where driver will wait for you.
Directions if you want to explore Plitvice on your own:
Entrance 1 > Viewpoint of Big Waterfall > Walk to Big Waterfall > walk to P3 (boat station) > P3 to P2 boat ride across the biggest lake Kozjak > round walk of Upper lakes, P2 back to P2 > P2 to P1 again with boat (2 minute boat ride) > walk from P1 to Hotel Jezero parking lot where will be your driver.
P1, P2 and P3 are boat stations.
Most probably you will be starving after this walk, so please bring some snacks with you or driver can stop you on the way to buy it on the gas station. It would be nice to have nice lunch afterwards, so we recommend stopping in Restaurant Vila Velebita to try some of Croatian dishes.
